About the Role
As a Software Engineer II on the Tools & Observability team, you will play a pivotal role in building internal tools around RevDB, Clari’s highly complex internal data platform. RevDB handles automated schema evolution, ETL transformations, and data normalization at scale. A deep understanding of this platform—as a product—is essential to designing tools that expose and support its operations. These tools play a critical role in supporting internal stakeholders and enabling customer-facing administrative features.
You'll gain deep knowledge of the complex ETL and data load processes that power RevDB. Developing a systematic view of how this data moves, transforms, and is governed is essential. This is a key skill that will enable you to build smarter tools and workflows, and is a critical competency for your long-term success in this role.
In this role, you'll contribute to internal tools that help teams monitor, debug, and operate data services efficiently. You'll collaborate with senior engineers to implement new features and maintain existing tooling across backend services and Retool applications.
This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Kraków, Poland office as needed. Candidates must be based in Poland.
Responsibilities
- Develop tools in Retool, leveraging JavaScript and SQL as the core languages for logic and data processing
- Enhance and maintain internal data pipelines and tooling to support efficient workflows
- Develop and support backend services written in Java and Python
- Write and optimize SQL queries for PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases
- Build and contribute to Retool applications that streamline operations for cross-functional teams
- Ensure high-quality code through clean, maintainable practices and active participation in code reviews
- Maintain and support operational aspects of RevDB to ensure its accuracy, stability, and reliable performance for Clari customers
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve internal tools and processes
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of software development experience with strong proficiency in JavaScript and SQL, as well as familiarity with Python and Java
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, with a strong preference for PostgreSQL environments
- Knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Basic understanding of observability concepts (logs, metrics, dashboards)
- Some experience with internal tooling platforms, such as Retool, is a plus
- Experience with React is a plus
- Proficiency with Cloud Platforms, preferably AWS, is a plus
