Senior Frontend Engineer
Branch
At Branch, we’re transforming how brands and users interact across digital platforms. Our mobile marketing and deep linking solutions are trusted to deliver seamless experiences that increase ROI, decrease wasted spend, and eliminate siloed attribution. Our Branch team consists of smart, humble, and collaborative people who value ownership over all. Everything we do is centered around creating a great product, team, and company that lives and breathes our motto: Build Together, Grow Together, Win Together.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to be a foundational member of our brand-new Activation engineering team. This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to grow a new product line from the ground up, one that will be central to our company's growth.
You will be a founding technical pillar for a link shortening, QR code, and landing pages platform similar in scope to other industry leaders. You will act as a key hands-on builder and a strategic partner to Product and Design, translating ambitious ideas and complex designs into beautiful, intuitive, and delightful user experiences.
This role requires a senior engineer who can balance technical excellence with pragmatic decision-making, driving continuous value for our customers. If you are a hands-on engineer who loves the challenge of building new, customer-facing products and mentoring other engineers, this is the perfect role for you.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you’ll get to:
- Translate Design into Delight: Partner closely with Product and Design to translate Figma-based designs and prototypes into pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible web applications that create genuine customer delight.
- Own & Solve: Act as a reliable technical contributor who owns, drives, and solves complex UI/UX problems independently, resolving diverse issues with creativity. You will own the production operation and monitoring of your applications, paying close attention to Core Web Vitals, performance bottlenecks, and error rates.
- Lead Projects: Independently lead key frontend projects through the full development lifecycle, from scoping with product partners to deployment and post-launch support.
- Improve & Adapt: Challenge existing processes and identify improvements in our technical stack and development lifecycle. You will be a key contributor to building and evolving our new Design System.
- Mentor & Influence: Mentor other engineers to accelerate their growth and encourage broad participation in technical discussions. You will be expected to persuade peers and stakeholders on difficult technical matters.
You’ll be a good fit if you have:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building complex, high-quality frontend applications.
- Deep experience in React and its ecosystem (e.g., Hooks, State Management). Expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and advanced frontend JavaScript patterns (e.g., component-based architecture, asynchronous programming).
- Rapid, Iterative Delivery: A strong bias for action and a pragmatic approach to rapid, iterative development, with a proven ability to deliver small chunks of value to customers quickly (e.g., POCs, MVPs).
- Customer-Obsessed: You possess a deep sense of customer empathy and are driven to understand their needs, ensuring that technical solutions are perfectly aligned with creating a valuable and effective user experience.
- Design-to-Code Excellence: A strong portfolio or demonstrated ability to translate complex Figma designs into beautiful, responsive, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent ability to articulate complex technical concepts and design trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead complex technical projects independently, from scoping and design through to delivery.
- Mentorship & Influence: Experience mentoring other engineers and a demonstrated ability to persuade on difficult technical matters.
Nice to haves:
- Design System Experience: Experience building or contributing to a design system from the ground up.
- Component Libraries: Familiarity with component utility libraries and systems like shadcn/ui, Radix UI, or Headless UI.
- Diverse Company Experience: A blend of experience from both fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments and larger, established tech companies (understanding both speed and scale).
- Domain Knowledge: Direct experience in the martech/ad-tech space, or with platforms focused on link management, QR codes, or marketing analytics.
