About the Role:
As the Legal Counsel at Aspire, you will ensure that our products and services operate within the bounds of regulatory and legal requirements by designing innovative structures and proper risk mitigation measures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams ensuring that our operations align with legal requirements and best practices. As a strategic member, you will drive legal excellence, navigate complex regulatory landscapes, and spearhead innovative legal strategies to support our company's growth and success in the exciting world of Fintech.
What will you be doing?
- Working closely with the regional compliance and product teams to ensure that our products, services and processes comply with applicable corporate and commercial regulations
- Reviewing and assisting in the drafting and/or negotiation of nondisclosure, research, license, and other agreements involving the use, transfer, or ownership of intellectual property.
- Support regulatory projects & product launches
- Be the main representative of the legal team & liaise with internal stakeholders (business leaders, legal team…) and external stakeholders (external counsel, counterparties…)
- Manage contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiating, execution, and retention of agreements
- Draft, review and maintain the company corporate documents (e.g., board resolutions, cap table, intercompany agreements, etc)
- Experiences in commercial contract negotiation
- Providing practical, timely, strategic, and high-quality legal advice and counsel on commercial, corporate governance and investment matters
- Design & execute on the legal strategy
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in law firm or financial institution
- Graduated from a reputable University
- Appropriately identify and analyze legal issues with an understanding of how to appropriately balance risk and the Company’s ability to pursue its business interests
- Ability to evaluate fact situations, identify legal and compliance issues, analyze and understand statutes, regulations and recommend appropriate courses of action
- Strong analytical, drafting, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage complex projects on a regional level
- Willingness to take on responsibility for matters beyond core expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in FinTech would be a plus
