About the team:

At Aspire, we have very ambitious plans of scaling to new geographies, introducing numerous currency accounts, enabling payments in many new geographies and processing millions of transactions annually.

In order to do this, we need to integrate with many banks and service providers, and route our payments via the right partner - to provide the fastest, and most convenient payment method to our customers at very good prices. In addition, we need to enhance our own infrastructure and systems to support this network of payment providers.

As Aspire is preparing its expansion into multiple countries, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to help set up the banking services infrastructure in partnership with our bank partners that is foundational in issuing deposit-taking accounts, and in enabling payments in and out of the accounts across the key payment streams relevant to the targeted market.

About the role:

  • Strategy and Product Roadmap Development: Define and drive the product strategy for integrating with various payment providers, staying abreast of industry trends/competitive landscape/customer needs, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand technical aspects of payment flows (instruction exchange, clearing, settlement etc.) to effectively scope, communicate with engineering teams and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, compliance, and legal departments to design internal ledger systems optimized for effective customer use case support, financial control, treasury mgmt., reconciliation.
  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver integration projects on time and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with payment providers, managing integrations and ongoing partnerships.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all payments and FX products comply with local regulations and internal compliance procedures.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure the success of integrations and identify areas for improvement.

Minimum qualifications

  • At least 4 years working experience as a Product Manager in Payments or Fintech
  • Be very comfortable with API documentations and solution architecture discussions
  • Demonstrated sharp problem-solving skills with strong attention to details
  • Ability to drive discussions/negotiations with different stakeholders to make informed trade-offs
  • Data-driven - has the ability to extract insights from raw data and communicate them clearly
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous direct experience in payments is a big plus
  • Familiar with data visualization tools (eg. Tableau, SQL)
  • Expertise in technical role is a bonus - eg. software developers
