The Team
The General Engineering team within Arta is building
[SAMPLE: Infra team description] the backbone of this mission, from ingesting data and making it accessible to our UI, research and trading services to managing people's money and investment to external market integration with various fintech services.
Everything at Arta evolves around data: training and running our ML models, managing users wealth, providing powerful user interfaces. This not only requires us to ingest and store data efficiently, but making it available to a variety of services - all with their own requirements and constraints. Your role is building this internal service that works across a wide range of data (market data, economic data…) and combines it into one consistent model.
The Role
As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure across the entire stack—ranging from user-serving servers, data pipelines and storage systems to trading platforms and research infrastructure. You will play a critical role in supporting both real-time and batch workflows, ensuring scalability, performance, and high reliability for mission-critical systems.
What You Will Do
Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure supporting both real-time and batch workflows, with a focus on high-throughput, low-latency data processing for autonomous trading, quantitative research, and user-serving servers with high uptime.
Collaborate closely with frontend, research, and trading teams to ensure infrastructure and data pipelines meet performance, precision, and usability needs.
Integrate third-party platforms and data providers, ensuring secure and reliable API/data stream ingestion, and handle complex external data integration challenges.
Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in distributed systems, optimizing performance and resource usage.
Own deployment pipelines and production operations to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and observability of critical services
Architect and implement scalable systems that support high-throughput, low-latency data processing, critical to autonomous trading and quantitative research
Ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability through rigorous testing, validation, and monitoring pipelinesEnforce security best practices and collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet compliance, audit, and governance requirements
Contribute to architectural decision-making, documentation, and mentoring of teammates in infrastructure best practices and automation strategies.
Continuously improve the reliability and availability of production systems, using automation to reduce toil and manual interventions.
Who You Are
At least 8-10 years of overall software development experience.
Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as [AWS/Azure], and preferably GCP, along with cloud-native technologies.
Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), orchestration technologies, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi.
A deep understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, collaborating effectively with frontend, research, and trading teams.
Strong problem-solving and optimization skills, with experience tackling complex scalability challenges, including user-serving infrastructure with high uptime.
Prior experience in trading platforms or financial systems is highly preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced startup environment
