About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to build and run our U.S. finance function from the ground up. You’ll establish scalable accounting, tax, compliance, and reporting processes that support current operations and prepare the company for future fundraising and IPO readiness. This is a high-impact role for a builder who thrives in fast-paced, growth-stage environments and excels at both strategy and execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Own end-to-end U.S. financial operations, including month-end close, GAAP-compliant financial statements, revenue recognition (ASC 606), accounts payable/receivable, treasury management, and intercompany accounting.
  • Tax & Audit Oversight: Manage all U.S. federal and multi-state tax filings and compliance. Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Systems & Process Buildout: Design and implement scalable finance systems (e.g., NetSuite), internal controls, and operational workflows—starting hands-on and evolving into team leadership.
  • Strategic Support: Develop financial models, KPI dashboards, and board-level reporting packages to inform business decisions and support U.S. growth initiatives.
  • Fundraising & IPO Readiness: Lead financial due diligence for future funding rounds (Series C+) and establish the infrastructure required for public company readiness (e.g., audit quality, SOX-aligned controls, 409A processes).
  • Qualifications

    Must-Have Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of U.S.-based finance experience in high-growth SaaS or subscription-based technology companies, ideally combining Big 4/public accounting audit training with hands-on operational roles in scaling startups.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting late-stage fundraising (Series B or later), including building complex financial models and leading due diligence processes.
    • Deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, ASC 606 (particularly as applied to SaaS revenue models), stock-based compensation accounting, and 409A valuations.
    • Proven ability to own a timely, accurate month-end close and scale finance operations using ERP systems such as NetSuite.
    • Strong understanding of U.S. federal and multi-state tax compliance requirements, with experience managing relationships with external tax advisors.
    • A true “player-coach”: equally comfortable designing scalable processes and rolling up sleeves to execute critical tasks personally.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Active CPA license.
    • Direct experience contributing to IPO preparation (e.g., S-1 drafting support, audit readiness, SOX implementation).
    • Exposure to China-U.S. cross-border financial or operational dynamics.
    • Mandarin language skills (a plus, not required).
